Brew Cart- As an extract brewer I wanted to build brewing equipment that would allow me to improve my brewing process and get me out of the wife's kitchen.  Also I wanted something that was portable and could be transported from one place to another. I designed the brew cart and had a friend of mine weld it together.

Brewing on the cart - A 55,000 Hurricane burner was installed on the upper part for boiling the wort, a second stage was built for cooling the wort and to aid in racking the wort to the primary fermenter. Once the wort is ready to be cooled a wort chiller is placed in the brew pot. Prior to starting the brewing section a cooler is filled with ice and water. Using an onboard March Model 809 Series pump the cool water is pumped from the cooler thru the wort chiller and re-circulated to the cooler. The wort is cooled to pitching temperature within ten minutes using approximately 5 gallons of water. Once cooled the ball valve is opened and the wort flows into the primary fermenter.
The brewing pot- Is a  9 Gallon Italian Kettle. The nine gallon kettle 12.25" tall (the lid adds an extra inch) and 15.8" in diameter. I removed the spigot that came with the pot and replaced it with a stainless steel ball valve. I purchased it and most of the equipment to build the brew cart from

The Wort Chiller - It is made of 1/2 inch stainless steel tubing and is approximately 21 feet long.
